Guest guest
AnnMarie, Sounds like things are going GREAT! Great to hear that the band is working well and that you won't need a second. That must be a relief. Also good to hear that the PT is working well - hopefully things will just continue to get better and better. Keep us posted. Guest guest
Debbie, I wish graduated!! (But in due time he will!!!!!!!!!) On the 25th of this month (his first birthday) he will be in the band 5 mos. We were told in the beginning of therapy it would take 4 - 6 mos. (Possibly 4, more than likely 6.) His orthotist said everything is coming along great -- and that we are definitely one of his success stories -- but he would not cut his therapy back before his first birthday. So anyway, we are hoping at least by the end of February he will cut back to just wearing it at nite. Our orthotist said he would not need a second band. At his last visit, they put a spacer in his helmet because it was getting too tight. Since he said he won't need a second helmet -- we are hoping he will graduating soon!!! His PT (for tort) is coming along great also!! He has full ROM to his left side (tort side). His PT is now working on "taping" his right side because from being overstretched (always turning that way), it has now become weak. He is in PT 2Xmonth. He commando crawls like crazy, and also does some kind of funky crawl on all fours but with his left leg tucked under him!! He just started pulling himself completely up over the past few days and is cruising around things!! Everyone said -- "it won't be long now" meaning he will be walking soon!! Talk to you later! Have a great weekend!! AnnMarie and (01/25/01) Re: [Anne Marie Ann MarieWelcome to our group! I am so glad to hear that you pushed & pushed to get your son the treatment he needed. It sounds as if you are thrilled with his success in his band. You said his last appt with the orthotist was 1/4 - does that mean graduated? If so, congratulations. You did the right thing by pushing for his band. It's irritating how non-chalant so many Drs are regarding plagio and/or tort. How is his tort doing?Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It's so nice to hear happy endings.Debbie Abby's mom DOCgradMIFor more plagio info
