Guest guest
I am new to the group. My 4 month old daughter Jenna is getting her helmet from Advanced Ortho Indianpolis Indiana next tues. This company is well respected in Indy and I am told they have been doing helmets for years. I had read a post on this site that said helmets are Passive and the bands are aggressive. When I asked the orthotist about it....he said that the helmet " holds " the three points of Jennas head that are where they need to be and the voided space in the helmet allows her flat spot (right side) to round out. I read a disturbing story in the files section of this site from a mom who said she did not have success with the helmet and eventually went to a band. I am looking for some experienced helmet users to provide some peace of mind. I have what I consider to be excellent insurance and they have denied the coverage for Jenna's cranial molding helmet....so I want to make sure I am using the right therapy. My cranio plastic surgeon says he prefers the helmets. Can anyone help me make sense of all this? Thanks Kay Rust mzeunik@...
