Hard time adjusting; comments from strangers

Thanks to all who responded about having a hard time adjusting to the helmet after 2 weeks, also to my "Comments from strangers" post last month. Your support has been invaluable. Here's an update:

"Strangers" haven't said anything too offensive yet. I like it best when people say nothing about the helmet at all - just see the baby. I do take the helmet off when going to some places. I leave it on in the car, then take it off when we arrive at our destination. It's only off an hour or so, and I feel better having a break from the attention.

One hint for everyone: I use prepackaged alcohol pads when on the go, to clean the helmet.

As to why adjusting has been a problem, has had a cold since getting his helmet, so maybe that has made his adjustment period longer. He is feeling better and actually laughed while wearing the helmet today!
