Guest guest
Hi everyone. Well, had his CT scan today, and as heartbreaking the whole process of sedation was, (I almost cried) the CT scan lasted not even five minutes and the rest of the time was spent waiting for to wake up, two hours! The sedation process was not good...they used like a syringe to drop this liquid in his mouth, which the nurse warned me is the most horrendous tasting liquid you could ever taste, so some babies throw it up or gag. He was gurgling and gagging and I felt so bad. I had to hold his arms and legs so he wouldn't hightail it off the table. Then they let me hold him and rock him to sleep, which took five minutes! Then I watched the CT scan from outside the room and it was just so strange to see him so still. Two hours later when he woke up, he was his normal self, a little disoriented, but it didn't take long for his personality to emerge. The best part of this, we got a call an hour ago from the nurse practitioner at Children's who told me she reviewed the preliminary CT scan and from that she can see no signs of craniosynostosis and that there is no reason not to go through with the helmet casting tomorrow. We are so relieved! Just wanted to share the good news! Kellie, mom of Tacoma, WA
