>There is no reason that you cant do your treadmill during the day.

I'll add my 2 cents to the discussion. I've been living in apartments for all but 5 years of my life, and those 5 years was in an attached house, what some other parts of the country call a duplex.

In the place I live in now, I'm up on the third floor, attic apartment. The lady beneath me is a retired nurse who has been in and out of hospitals for various surgeries the past few years. When she was still working, it was nice, as I could make all the noise I wanted from 7am until 4pm, but since she's been home sick, it's been a challenge.

I had to modify the steps to my videos to make the least amount of noise possible so I can do a or video in the mornings. I have to do them with the sound almost off, as she can hear my tv set through the floor. I have to skip some tapes altogether, like some of 's newer BlastOff's, because the steps are too fast or he has *leaps*, like in the longer Broadway Sweat video. At least my tai chi I can do at any time, as it's a very quiet activity.

I have a small window where I can use my treadmill. I know she's not awake until around 9am, so no tread before that. The first floor people (landlord) can hear the tread down in their apartment, and he's asked me to keep the noise down after his step-kid gets home from school so she can do her homework, so no noise after 3pm. The nurse takes a nap every afternoon, so no noise after 1pm. Three times a week I hit the laundromat and don't get back until 10 am, later if I have to hit a few stores while I'm out. Hubby calls from work during his lunch hour and stays on for 15-20 minutes.

So now the treadmill window is narrowed down to between 11 am and 12:30 pm on a *good* day. I consider it a miracle the days I actually *do* get on that treadmill, with that short amount of time I actually have access to it! Still, it's better than the last apartment we had when we lived in Florida, when the people downstairs worked the night shift and we had to be quiet all day long.

I love my treadmill, but you can see why I usually either do a video or do my walking out of the house.
