I hear you Kellie... My em's been out of her band and sick all

weekend long...sigh. Fever finally broke early Monday morning, but

still had it coming out the other end. So I took her in to the

clinic Monday. She's got a double ear infection, along with a cold

that's lingered from shots given on the 11th. Yep, she gets sick

after every round of shots. So we started on Augmentin, which we've

used before. She started getting sick after giving it yesterday

morning... I mean, everything in that poor little tummy came out...

then at lunch she kept it down, same thing happened in the evening

when we gave her meds... up came dinner... So this am, around 4,

gave her a bottle with half of her meds in it... OMG, I tortured her

yet again, but this time she kept it down, after 45 minutes of

screaming because her poor little belly hurt... I'm such a bad

mommy. I wasn't sure if it was meds or a flu... well now I know. So

we have to try something else. $15 of Augmentin down the drain,

thank goodness for insurance, or it would have been more I'm sure.

We finally have our band back on, but she's still in ear pain, and

not feeling good. I so hate it when they don't feel good... I feel

so HELPLESS... :(

What is going on? Are our baby's germs getting passed thru cyber

space to one another? Good grief.

Abby also got diarrhea from her amoxicillin anti-biotic. Since then,

she's usually rec'd Zithromax (great stuff, only once a day, 5

days!). But Abby's ped. suggested when baby's are on antibiotics

give them " acidophilus " . It's a vitamin you can buy over the

counter. Because the antibiotic is killing everything in their

system (you know what I mean!), it causes diarrhea a lot. This helps

maintain " intestinal flora " which keeps their tummy happy. Ask your

ped about it. Since we've done this with Abby she's never gotten

diarrhea to any antibiotic. They come in capsules so we'd break one

capsule open & poor the powdery medicine in it into her bottle, we'd

only give her 1/2 a capsule full. Also, try giving Em yogurt. That

also has acidophulus in it.

Get well soon Emmers!

Thanks for the info on the info on the acidophilus. I'll look into

it today. I have no idea what the dr is getting us to try, I won't

know till tonight, as I'm picking up a trial of something. I just

know that she won't be getting anymore Augmentin...(and I really

loved this stuff, wonder why it's acting different with her

now...sigh). I've tortured her enough, no more...lol. Now if only I

could do the yogurt. I do give her those little drinks with yogurt

in them, once in awhile. You see, she's lactose intolerant...lol.

Gives her MAJOR diarrhea, and tummy pains. I have tried a little

cheese here and there lately, and we get the same results, so I think

this will be a life thing to deal with. Those little Gerber yogurt

drinks once in awhile don't seem to hurt though, does the yogurt

settle different Deb? Should I try the good yogurt? She also loves

the Banana Yogurt in the Gerber jar. Hummm, I'll have to try it, and

see, well, once her little body doesn't do the gook thing...lmao.
