So do I, but it doesn't stop me from getting on at least every other day.

With the scale stored under the bed so I have to take it out of the room

into the kitchen to weigh myself because of the carpet, I *don't* weigh in

on weekends when Ed sleeps late, but there's nothing stopping me most other

mornings.

I *try* not to weigh on Thursdays, either, because Wednesday night we have

spaghetti before leaving to pick Henry up at college after his night class,

and since nobody carries the salt-free brand any more, I *know* the scale is

going to show a gain of at least 2-3 pounds, sometimes 5 if I eat Italian

bread and use the vegan margarine on it.

One thing I *never* do is weigh after about noon. By then I've had at least

breakfast, a cup or 2 (or more) of coffee or tea, a snack, and sometimes

lunch. I *know* if I weigh at night it's going to be anywhere from 5 to 10

pounds more than that same morning, depending on how much I ate & drank and

whether it was a water-pill day or not.

Congrats! When I weighed this mroning I *did* break 280 and was back to 278

again, but I've hit that number a few times the past 6 months and it always

goes back up. When it stays below 280 for more than 2 weeks, then I'll know

it's staying off this time. I'm determined to see 250 again before this year

is out.

Much better than yo-yoing the same 10 pounds each month like I seem to be

doing.

I *really* gotta get back on the exercise band-wagon. I just get so busy,

and the times I *can* exercise are so limited in this apartment, that just I

run out of time. At least spring *is* coming some time soon, so I can get

out of the house and do my daily walking instead of making sure my neighbor

is awake first.

I'd hide that scale... out of sight, out of mind. Let your clothes and how you feel tell you how you are doing for awhile. I go in spurts. Weigh once a month, twice a month, once a week, etc and when I start getting on it more often than weekly, it goes in the closet for a while again...

I step on the scale most mornings - drives my cuz crazy because I email him most days with the results LOL (we're in competing at the moment). Some days this seems to be going so quickly and others it feels tediously slow. But in the grand scheme of things, I am averaging between 9-10 pounds/month. I thinkthat's a good rate.
