Guest guest
Kellie, Like you, I'm a first time mommy and they always do that to me too: look at me like, its a cold, he'll get over it! But, with the throwing up, I would definetly check with the Doc on this- especially since he's not eating you want to make sure he does not get dehydrated. My Doc first dx with a cold, gave us amoxicillin and sent us home, only to have 2 days later to be admitted because he did not have a bacterial infection, he had a virus and the medicine rx was doing nothing for him. Have your baby checked out- better safe than sorry! ' Mom
Guest guest
Kellie- take him to the ped-if he ispuking and cant or wont keep anything down you risk the chance of dehydration. Has he had any wet diapers yet today? How about his lips or eyes-dry chapped? Does he have tears when he cries? will he take anything? Popsicle Jell-O applesauce? I always take -better to be safe than sorry is my motto. Is he running a temp????? You can call and speak to the DR or the nurse and say these are his symptoms is there something going around that I should be aware of? I always do that and she normally tells me to come on in so the DR can give a look see anyhow since you can never be too sure. Being a parent is scary isn't it???? I wish we had a little crystal ball and could just know everything. Let us know how the DR appointment goes:-) Beck here is a flu link for ya" Click here: Stomach Flu this onehas good advice and here is one more for the fun of it Click here: Influenza (Flu)

Guest guest
Kellie, I would probably take him to the ped if he continues to vomit and/or runs a temp. My guess is that they will tell you to cut out the formula and go with water and/or pedialyte for 24 hours and then ease back into normal feeding routine. When had the flu they also prescribed a suppository that helped keep the vomitting down thereby allowing her to remain hydrated. It also made her sleepy and helped ease the nausea (sp?). Good stuff! It made me very edgy actually inserting it, but it really seemed to help. Good luck and I hope the poor little guy is feeling much better very soon!
