Guest guest
I was told that as long as the temp does not exceed 101, its ok to leave on. However, I would go with mommy instinct here- if your child seems hot, and feverish, I would leave it off until they are close to normal temp. We did this as seemed to constantly get sick between 4-8 months old- prime band time- and he still wore it for the majority of time. I went against what CT told me on this because I felt Mommy knew best! ' Mom
Guest guest
, Knowing whether or not the helmet is fitting properly is a tough one. I would trust mom instinct on this one. If you feel strongly that it is not correct, then it probably isn't. That was a pretty vague answer - sorry. One BIG factor on whether or not the helmet/band fits is if you see correction of not. Most people had their instinct confirmed when the helmet/band did not lead to any correction. So be vigilant in checking that head! Take lots of pictures and compare current view to older photos and see if you notice improvment. You could also see a specialist and get his/her opinion on the fit of the helmet. While it is true that some parents in this group have truly had bad experiences with their helmet or band not everyone has and in fact, the majority have not! That is not to say that you shouldn't be on top of every aspect of the helmet - you should! But, if you have checked out your ortho thoroughly and feel comfortable with their experience and expertise then keep a watchful eye, but try not to worry. Hope this helps!
