Guest guest
So good to hear that the x-rays ruled out cranio. That is great news. You said you are going to be fitted for the DOCband. Does that mean that you have already been casted? I can't remember where you are at in the process. If you are going in for the casting I would suggest bringing someone else along if you can and bring a number of things you can use for distraction. Binky and bottle are too good things. You might consider a favorite toy or even a brand new toy that makes noise or music or something like that. Anything to distract her from the process. The truth is that she will probably cry at some point, but it is short lived and she will have forgotten about it before the bath is finished. It is my understanding that CT lets you give your baby a full bath so you might want to bring your favorite baby shampoo/soap and a soft towel from home. If you are just going for the fitting then you will have nothing to worry about. The casting is the hardest part! The ortho will tell you the schedule to follow and more then likely Emilie will take to it with no trouble whatsoever. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Try here for some casting tips/photos......... Plagiocephaly/files/Casting%20process%20for%20the%20DOC%20Band/ Kendra Update on Emilie's xrays, etc. Hi everyone! First let me thank everyone who helped me out byanswering my informal poll and helped me out with insurance relatedquestions. Second, wanted to let you know that Emilie's xrays werefine, so she is going to be fitted for the DocBand on Jan. 29th inBurbank, Calif. And, she was a lot better at her PT appointment thismorning, but I think that was because daddy went with us (he had theday off for MLK).Any pointers for the DocBand fitting? At this point (after so much PTfor her torticollis), she HATES having her head touched by strangersespecially when they are forcing her to move it a certain way. Thanks again!!For more plagio info
Guest guest
I'm so happy to hear Emilie's xrays are negative. Shew, what a relief! Now on to the dreaded casting! Odds are that Emilie will have a cow. Remember, it does not hurt her at all. It takes about 10 mins that feels like hours, but really it is over & done with quickly. After that Emilie will get a nice warm bath that will cheer her up. Babies are usually back to their happy selves w/i a few mins or son. Once the casting is done, you'll be on your way to a nice round head!!! Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > > Update on Emilie's xrays, etc. > > > Hi everyone!
