Because it would have been more of a gain. "Something's up".... stress, tom, bloat, retention? Hang in there... keep up the good work with your eating choices and exercise and the scale will move again. Hey, maybe you built up muscle ;-) Take measurements and guage that way vs the scale, cuz you might have lost inches anyway. I had 8 weeks last summer that the scale didn't move..... I wouldn't wish it on anyone, just have patience

*sigh* I've had a rough week. For some reason, I've been craving

sweets like you wouldn't believe. I've done really well avoiding

them, however, and didn't go over on calories except on Monday (not by

much). I've exercised every day, did strength training twice, and

when I got on the scale this morning, I have gained a pound. :P I've

been drinking my water, eating healthy...I just don't know what's

going on. I haven't lost since right before we left for vacation and

it's starting to get me down.

I know I have to hang in there, but today's going to be difficult

(neighborhood Easter egg hunt and a friend's birthday party)...and

needless to say, tomorrow's going to be difficult. I got up and went

to the Y today and walked 2 miles in 33 minutes on the treadmill, then

did 25 minutes on the stairmaster. I feel great, but I can't get past

the number! I know it's probably water weight or whatever, but it's

REALLY frustrating when I was craving sweets all week and turned them

down so I'd do well this week. My first thought when I saw I'd gained

was, " Well why did I turn down the ________ this week, then? "

Anyway, thanks for listening.

((Bonnie)) you could also be gaining muscle.don't focus on the numbers - you're feeling great - beating temptation, working out etc. The numbers will move but don't let them control you. I'm proud of you, you're doing great!brgk44 <brgk44@...> wrote: *sigh* I've had a rough week. For some reason, I've been craving sweets like you wouldn't believe. Weigh in.

*sigh* I've had a rough week. For some reason, I've been cravingsweets like you wouldn't believe. My weakness has been the potato chips lately. I've done really well avoidingthem, however, and didn't go over on calories except on Monday (not bymuch). I've exercised every day, did strength training twice, andwhen I got on the scale this morning, I have gained a pound. :P Sounds like you are doing all the right things. I'vebeen drinking my water, eating healthy...I just don't know what'sgoing on. I haven't lost since right before we left for vacation andit's starting to get me down.I had a couple of weeks there where I wasnt moving at all and then when I did move I went up a little. Like you I thought I was doing all the right stuff. I don't know.....I never figured it out myself. It was so discouraging but wasn't much I could do but try and stay on the right path. Hopefully it will turn around for you too.I know I have to hang in there, but today's going to be difficult(neighborhood Easter egg hunt and a friend's birthday party)...andneedless to say, tomorrow's going to be difficult. Same story here...Those boiled eggs are great. When I have a couple for breakfast I call that a good breakfast but when I eat 2 or 3 for a snack.....well lets just say I don't get a lot of calories alloted for snacks. And going to bubs for dinner tomorrow so I have to watch the meal calories pretty close. It seems I always fall off the wagon at family gatherings. Of course I'm sure you all remember what I have told you about my family.....we are all into good ole fashion home cooking. There ain't a professional chef out there that can out cook my family. Just a family gathering can consist of so many main dishes it is unbeliveable and the sides are all as good if not better then the main. Dessert table is usually 2 tables full of course the dessert don't really concern me as I am not much of a sweet eater other then ice cream. The main dishes and sides are what I have to be concerned with.Maybe you can do what I try and do is have the dish that you usually don't have at home and leave most of the rest. Now when going to a family gathering I usually don't even look at any mashed potatoes, french fries, mac and cheese.Any thing like that. That is common everyday items that you might have at home. So to feel like I'm not being deprived I will allow myself to have that great chicken casserole that is mainly only fixed during special ossaccions or that great Danish Dessert that is only served 3 or 4 times a year. I got up and wentto the Y today and walked 2 miles in 33 minutes on the treadmill, thendid 25 minutes on the stairmaster. I feel great, but I can't get pastthe number! Goodness, I would be disappointed too. But truly Bonnie, You are doing all the right things, keep at it and it will turn around for you. I know it's probably water weight or whatever, but it'sREALLY frustrating when I was craving sweets all week and turned themdown so I'd do well this week. My first thought when I saw I'd gainedwas, "Well why did I turn down the ________ this week, then?"Exactly my words about a week or so ago. You sat around and really cut those meals and turn down so much you would love to have and then see no results. It's dern hard! It seems I have been at the same weight here for about 3 weeks. I lose a couple of pounds then gain one back. It seems as if I'm not moving. I havent weighed in for awhile because I was driving myself insane seing the numbers. All I can say is I know how you are feeling. I sure hope it turns around for you soon. Don't give up. Anyway, thanks for listening.-Bonnie

Thank you, ! I appreciate this...I gotta get out of my funk.

Too much junk food around lately, but all of that's going to change

Monday when I make dh take 90% of the Easter goodies to work for the

community candy dish. :)

So how'd you keep your motivation going during those 8 weeks? Up to

this point, I haven't had too much of a problem, but this is really

getting to me. And you're right--at least I didn't gain even more :P

I did awesome today until I started filling the (few) eggs for the

kids with candy--I started munching and ate more than I should've.

Didn't do too bad despite that, but my goal is just to stay away from

the candy tomorrow. At this rate, I'm not sure how likely that is. *sigh*

Because the calendar (and tv, and magazines, and newspapers!) are telling

you to! To the majority of Amerians, what *is* Easter but the day of

chocolate bunnies and marshmallow Peeps. Since mentioning the religious

significance of any holiday is now taboo in this country, what else could

advertisers play up?

Everybody has plateaus, even when they do everything perfectly. It's just

our bodies' way of saying " Hey! I don't like what you're doing (with-holding

food and making it sweat) and I'm gonna hold my breath until you stop doing

this! " And like any stubborn child, as soon as it sees it's not going to get

what it wants, it'll start behaving again and release some more weight. Just

have patience.

Hope everything went well. :)

Yikes! You're doing great on the exercise!

So keep off the scale for a few weeks. Just don't live your life by the

numbers. Remember, you're in this for the rest of your life, so don't be so

impatient. :)

Keep up the great work and the weight will come off. Commit to do what

you're doing for a month and then tell us what the scale says. :) I know

it's darn frustrating but the scale just doesn't cooperate every week.
