PEACEFUL MOMENTS

Guess what I did last evening. I was on my balcony with my dogs watching the sunset. It was a living and breathing painting come to life! I want to tell you about the sunset I have witnessed. At 5:15 PM, the sun began dropping from its throne in the sky. I watched the ball of light find a home behind a white, billowing cloud, and when the sun was totally behind the cloud, it cast a glow on the silhouette of the fluffy shape. The robin`s egg blue sky began to fade to a lighter blue, and the clouds began changing colors – first pale yellow, then apricot, and finally rose.

It looked like a Maxfield Parrish work of art, and to see it better, I laid down on the balcony with Dolly on one side of me and Hattie on the other. I felt so peaceful looking up at the sky, in a few minutes, I fell into a deep sleep as the cool breeze brushed against my face. When I woke, the stars were there to greet me and wish me good evening.

Relaxing is very hard for me. I think God forgot to give me a relax gene, but lately I`ve been working on relaxing more because I need to, and so do you! We all have to have some down time to recharge our minds and bodies. From the moment I get up and watch the sunset to the moment I say goodbye to the big egg yolk in the sky, I am frantically busy. Sometimes there`s so much going on that I can`t think straight! Does this happen to you, too?

When you are going through these feelings, take a break and go relax. Find some quiet place and be by yourself for a little while. Sit or lie down, close your eyes, and take some light breaths. In your breathing, release all that is happening in your mind, and think of absolutely nothing. Try to stay relaxed for 10-15 minutes. When you open your eyes, stand up and stretch your body, reaching your arms over your head. Follow your stretching with some deep breaths, and go back to what you were doing.

This week, I wish you peaceful moments!

Love,
