BLECH!!!!!!!!

I was heading to bed and I went in the kitchen to throw a paper bowl away and wash my hands. Something caught my eye. There was a snake in the middle of my kitchen window! Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.......

We have regular old windows with an aluminum frame and two big panes. The snake was straight across the middle of the window on the little ledge made by the bottom pane. It went all the way across the window plus some so it had to be 4 feet long. Thank goodness it was outside and I was inside or I would have shrieked.

I called from the study and he came in and was fascinated by it and called it beautiful. Hmmmm...... Lynn (9) came out of her room and asked what was going on and she was fascinated by it too. Lynn wanted to wake up Vonn (6) but she's finally gotten over being afraid of everything so I didn't want her to see a 4 foot long snake outside the kitchen window. Poor kid would need years of therapy.

This darn snake was climbing up the brick around the window. soon realized that it was heading straight for the birds nest nearby. We knocked on the window but that didn't phase it at all so went out and got it down with a broom handle. It fled into a weep hole in the house in the laundry room wall. What the frig is it about snakes crawling in our weep holes??????? That happened once before.

I am totally creeped out! After searching on the internet we're pretty sure it's a Texas Rat snake. Non-venemous but aggressive. I pet a python at the zoo last week but I don't want a snake in my wall! Argh! I know it shouldn't be able to get into the laundry room from the weep hole but I'm still creeped out. Is this a good excuse not to do laundry tomorrow? I swear I'm going to wear boots and pull the clothes on the floor out with a rake.

Yes, I am a feminist! I ummm...... I just let deal with snakes so he feels needed. Yes. That's it. I was just thinking of 's ego. :) I categorically deny cringing behind my 9 year old as she happily stared at the snake from a step stool in front of the kitchen window. I am fearless!....... usually. :)
