Guest guest
Hi! I'm Alisha, and my son was just evaluated for Plagio today (after I asked his Ped about it since his 2 month visit!) is now 6 months old, and he fortunately has only mild-moderate Plagio, no facial asymmetry, no tort. He is being fitted for a helmet on February 8th, so we have a few more weeks of smooching the top of his sweet head before the helmet goes on. 's pregnancy and delivery were pretty unremarkable, although I had an unplanned c- section because he was presenting " sunny-side up " and his head could not be turned. As far as I know, that had no impact on the plagio, which did not start to develop until around 2 months of age, but what do I know? I only asked his ped about his head 3 times before she agreed an evaluation was necessary! is seeing a pediatric neurosurgeon named Duncan in Providence, RI (actually, he sees his Nurse Practitioner, June, who is a plagio expert.) Well, my little munchkin is getting fussy, so I need to end now. Looking forward to learning from all of you!
Guest guest
Hi Alisha: Welcome to our group! The good news is that he doesn't have torticollis and that he has no major assymetries. As others mentioned, the assymetries are often the hardest to correct. is at a great younger age to begin his helmet therapy. It sounds like you are very alert to keep bringing it up to your pediatrician. Be sure you let us know when the helmet comes in & how little adjusts to it. Good luck & welcome again.
