Guest guest
And yes, she has plagio. He said her head is a bit wide above the ears and her forehead is a little buldged, because of the flatness of the back of her head. She was casted today and she smiled and giggled all the way through it! They told me it would be about a week until her helmet is made. I talked to the secretary about insurance, and she called Cigna HMO and they said there is a 200 dollar deductable, and they will pay up to $1000. The receptionist said she is going to send all the DRs transcript (if thats the right word for it) and then i will have an answer from the insurance co in about 2 weeks. So, does this seem good that they just didnt flat out deny us? I was shocked they just didnt say, no we dont cover the helmet. SO i guess they will read over Makennas medical records and then decide if they feel that she really needs the helmet? If the insurance co does deny us, im going to go ahead and get the helmet for her but the orthotics people said they expect half right away after the insurance denys us, if thats what they do. ( it always comes down to the money!). Im expecting a denial, but could there be hope since they already have a deductable set up with this? Thanks for reading my rambling thoughts!! Guest guest
She smiled and giggled throughout the casting?! That is terrific, we should all be so lucky. You must have one happy baby there! You're well on your way to a rounder head for Makenna! I have not dealt with CIGNA personally, but I haven't heard a lot of success stories with them. Hopefully someone who has CIGNA will chime in and let you know what their experiences were like. Let us know when the helmet is in and how the fitting goes! Guest guest
, I'm glad you finally got in! It's amazing that Makenna handled the casting without a care! Wow - what an easy-going baby! It sounds like the helmet will be ready for fitting in short order and then you will be on your way. You will just have to wait in see on the insurance, but everything seems to be good so far. Your company can approve a specific service and then later deny the claim if it does not ultimately qualify as a covered benefit. For instance, they may have coverage for durable medical equipment, but if the helmet is found to NOT be medically necessary then they can deny the claim. That is just an example, I'm certainly not saying that will happen to you! Good luck and let us know how the fitting goes! Guest guest
: Makenna laughed & giggled thru the casting?? WOW! That's terrific. What a trooper. I'm so happy she did so well. It is a good sign ins. didn't deny you right away. They might surprise you & actually pay for it. I hope so. Let us know when her helmet gets in. I'm sure she'll adjust to it just fine. Good luck.
