It has been so long since I posted, and I feel terrible about it. I feel that I need to re-introduce myself!

My name is and I live just outside Chicago IL. I am married for 21 years now and have two grown sons and one beautiful granddaughter whom is the apple of this grandma's eye.

I have been doing the diet yo yo since I was in eight grade when my mother sent me to Weight Watchers. This was back in the very early 70's so some of you have no idea how good Weight Watchers has become!

I have done just about every diet out there, from acupuncture to WW, and had some very good success with a few of them for a while. The best run I had was when I followed the rice diet and lost 160 lbs in 9 months. I was able to keep it off for about two years. I can remember when my maintence spirit broke. I can still to this day picture it in my mind. Long story short it had to do with my sons and emotional problems.

I am trying something new this time, doing the rice diet again, but a little different. The first phase of the rice diet only gives you about 700 - 900 calories a day for at least two weeks. I know this is very wrong, so I am adding protein and more veggies as well as some dairy. I am drinking more water than I ever thought someone could swallow. I am also going to Positive Changes, a hypnosis process that I think is really great. I attend weekly sessions and rotates on a schedule, first week is 40 minutes of hypnosis, second week is a coaching session, where we discuss the past week, nutrition, exercise and anything else that might be either bothering me, or questions that I need to have answered. The third week is something different I haven't done it yet, so I am not sure exactly what to expect. Once I know I will let you all know.

They record each session and you take it home along with the cd player and earphones that they give you. They encourage you to listen to the session at least once a day. I come home after work, go upstairs and put on my earphones and listen to the session. I really have to tell you, I find my resolve very strong to stay on track with my eating. I am not hungry and I am not right now scrounging around looking for something to graze on.

On May 21 I weighted 279.5, yesterday when I weighted my self I was done 269.5, 10 pounds lost in the two week period, plus I have my period right now so I feel I did extremely well. I don't have a weight goal in mind right now, last time I gave myself a goal and I didn't achieve it, I was far to hard on myself and relapsed, a trap I don't want to fall into again. I do know I want to be less than I am today by my 50th birthday which isn't until late December.

I have check out and signed up for Sparkle People, thanks for that link. It is great and the daily emails from them have given me some great insight and ways to help support my progress.
