It really sounds like you are doing what is right for Makenna. Don't worry

about the stares, it really gets easier and easier and if you are comfortable

with it, then it is a good opportunity to educate people. Are you planning to

decorate the helmet? That usually helps to break the ice when you are around

people because it makes the helmet look less medical. She might look

different to you at first, however, it won't be long until she starts looking

strange when she is not wearing the helmet!

Good news about the research study - that is very important. was a part

of a research study as well and I hope to hear the results of that study

someday.
