Guest guest
Nick, Thanks for the good news about Tegan. You must really feel as if a huge amount of worry and stress has been lifted! True, the casting is not too much fun, but at least it is painless and over quickly. Let us know when the fitting is and how Tegan takes to it. It's good that you finally found some doctors that are listening to you and sharing in your concern about your daughter's head shape. Guest guest
Nick, Congratulations to you and baby Tegan!!! Can't wait to see those pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of luck to you both!! AnnMarie and (01/25/01) StarBanded -- 08/22/01 Pennsylvania UPDATE - UK Parents - Tegan Well thanks to this group, I managed to track down a consultant at Kings College in London who we visited yesterday with Tegan. Along with his colleague, they diagnosed that Tegan has moderate plagio and no sign of craniostenosis which is a massive relief.Part of the visit was an initial discussion explaining the medical reasons as to what had happened to Tegans head and enabled me to ask questions without being shunned as I have been by my local doctors. The result was that we immediately decided to go with their advice and have a cast taken of Tegans head for a band. One thing I wasn't prepared for was the actual taking of the mould of her head. Its pretty dramatic and upsetting for the baby but only took 5 minutes. She has her band fitted in 3 weeks time as it is being made in Germany and Dr Blecher only visits the UK for 1 day every 3 to 4 weeks. They estimate that she will have to wear the band for 4 to 5 months and think they can get about 80% correction which they say will mean it will not be noticable when she has finished treatment.I'd like to thank the group and all those who responded as Tegan has started on her trip to getting her plagio treated. Thanks.I will also keep you all posted about the progress and I'll post some pictures of Tegan once I work out how to use my digital camera. Thanks againNick and baby TeganFor more plagio info
