Oh, gosh, Beck. I'm glad you all are okay. How scary, though. Did the doctors attempt to turn the baby around? I have heard that they can "reach" up (sorry) and turn the baby. Probably as uncomfortable as it sounds, but I've heard that that is a way. My son, , wasn't breech, but his face was what they called "sunny side up" instead of facing my spine like he should have been. They tried to turn him several times, but to no avail. I ended up pushing for four hours because he was stuck in the birth canal (could have been the cause for the tort and plagio?). They almost did a c-section but had success with the forceps at the last minute.

Hopefully you have enough time left in your pregnancy for the baby to resituate him or herself. Other than a c-section at birth, I'm not sure what other options there are if he or she doesn't turn again. I'm not sure if they let babies be born breech anymore.

That sucks, Beck!

Unless times have changed, they will try and turn the

baby. I had a close friend go through this and they

tried to turn him without luck. She had a c-section

before her due date. The doctor didn't want to risk

her going into labor with the baby in the breech

position. Like someone else said, it sure is possible

that the baby will turn on his own. Good luck!!

Beck,

Glad you are all ok. I just read your post before I had to go in

to work. Babies have a mind of their own. They can turn at the last

minute. We have had pts. scheduled for a c-section and the baby turned

right before the section. Very experienced obstetricians can turn a baby

, it's called a version. Of course they're are some risks involved that

your OB would go over with you. Their are breech deliveries that are

done but it depends on the OB and their comfort level. I had a c-section

for fetal distress and it was a piece of cake.

As a L & D nurse I'm a firm believer in doing what's best for the pt and

baby? hope this helps, What has your OB said?

OMG Beck - I'm so glad everything is ok now. How scary. I don't

know much about breech babies, but I've seen a million Baby Story's

on TLC where the Dr. is somehow able to turn the baby by massaging

the mommy's belly. Take it easy for a while.

Kellie and Beck,

You know, my son , was also stuck in the birth canal for 2 hrs. 15 min. then was finally delivered with the "help" of forceps and suction!!!!! He was not breech or sunny-side-up. He also was diagnosed with tort and plagio!!!!!!!!!!! Just something to think about!!!!!!
