Guest guest
Becky, I have never been so happy to not be part of a group! I think I feel my blood pressure rising too. why don't people just keep their opinions to themselves. Its not any different than people who assumed I dropped Leigha when she had first gotten out of the hospital for her surger. Yea sure I dropped her right on her head and split it open like a egg!!! *grrrr* Oh well waisted energy on peoples' ignorance. Guess all we can do is try to educate but media sure as hell doesn't make that easy either. ;O) thanks for sharing...lol tell the mom's to email me too if they want to know about flat heads Mel > > > Okay, I have to tell you guys this because I know you'll understand how > I feel. > > I don't post here anymore, although I do read the messages because my > daughter is a graduate of the DOC band, I've wanted to keep up with > everybody, and we're expecting again (I'm hoping this time to avoid > plagio, but we'll see). > > ANYWAY, our baby is due the first part of March, so I read the posts on > Babycenter's Feb. 2002 and Mar. 2002 boards. Guest guest
This is a topic that is close to my heart. I am a social worker, currently working in child protection. It really ticks me off that people are so ignorant that they would automatically assume that because a baby has a flat spot..they are neglected. It is true that some children who are neglected have flat heads (b/c of extended periods of time left alone in their cribs) HOWEVER there are usually more serious (and often life-threatening) indicators of abuse/neglect present in these homes. Guest guest
Becky, Thank goodness you spoke up and provided facts about plagio. I am sure you have helped an immense number of parents at that site. People have a tendency to run at the mouth when they absolutely have no idea what they are talking about. I went through the same thing over at Babycenter at the Multiples board when we were first seeking out treatment for the twins' plagio. I eventually stopped going to Babycenter because I liked this group of people so much better ;o) Congrats on your pregnancy! Good luck to you!!
