Hi :

Where abouts in MI do you live? I am also in MI, the Grand Rapids

area. My daughter used both the STARband and then we switched her to

the DOCband after she spent 3 mos w/o any improvement in her STARband

we rec'd from our local hospital. My drive to the Chicago CT was

usually 4 hrs one way with traffic, 3 hrs w/o traffic (yeah right,

w/o traffic in Chicago?). So I'm wondering if you're considering the

Chicago CT then you might be close to me.

Hi--My son has a STARband so we are sort the odd man out of the

group. We chose it because of the cost ($900 vs. $3,000 for DOC) as

well as convenience. We found an orthotist in our town who we are

working with instead of having to go to the CT center in Atlanta.

Orthomerica will help you find an orthotist near you if you call the

toll free number (1-800-446-6770) The person I dealt with was Bill

Derringer; he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and provided

me with names and phone numbers of orthotists with whom they've had

dealings. Good luck to you.

Sorry you feel that way. There are actually quite a few STARband users here.

I'm sorry you feel like the odd man out - we have lots and lots of STARband

wearers in the group and that many again of babies that wear locally made

helmets. My daughter wore a helmet and one of our other moderators, Niki, had

her twins in STARbands. The STARband is a GREAT product if you find a good

ortho.
