Guest guest
Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome. It feels great to finally be able to communicate with people who understand. Anne, thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge, I really appreciate it. , I read in your post how common it is for doctors to be unsupportive. That was definitely our experience! Our doctor was no help. Everthing I have learned about plagiocephaly has been online. I first noticed 's problem when he was about 3 months old. His doctor just kept telling me not to worry, and that his head would round back out in time. Right now he is 6 1/2 months old, and I FINALLY got smart and started looking into the problem for myself. It is frustrating that we could have addressed the situation much earlier if our doctor had given us better advice. (Even if she didn't advise us to see a specialist right away, at the very least, I think she should have recommended aggressive re-positioning) Thank goodness we became aware of our options while there still are some!! has an appt. with a craniofacial surgeon on Feb. 11th and I'm very anxious to go and get him checked out. I'm anticipating that I will have many questions after that appt. so plan on hearing a lot from me around that time. Until then I will probably be mostly reading other people's posts trying to learn all that I can. Again, thanks for making me feel so welcome. Guest guest
: I'm glad to hear you have your an appt with a specialist soon. Be sure you let us know how it goes. You might want to check out this link before you go, it's a list of quesitons to ask the Dr.. http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support/questions.htm Unfortunatley, it is very common for Drs to be so laid back when it comes to plagio. It's very sad & frustrating for us parents. But you're a terrific mom who was able to find the help on your own for your son - good job! Keep us updated with everything!
