Guest guest
We decided to go with a second band which will be casted for on 2/18. He started with cva of 16mm and facial of 6mm and skull base of 6mm. His measurements now 4 months into therapy are cva of 7mm and facial of 3mm and skull 6mm. So will definitely need the second band but am thrilled with his progress so far. NOW FOR THE EXCITING NEWS. 's first band was covered 50 percent after I appealed and won. My insurance company then reduced the bill a little and only paid $1275.00 of the $3,000.00 which left us paying $1725.00 for the first band. Well, recently when I mentioned all this to 's physical therapist with the Infants and Toddlers Program she put me in touch with their finance officer who said she could probably get us $200.00 toward the first band and possibly what the insurance doesn't cover on the second less us offering to pay a little of it. So we applied for the fund (not sure if this is federal funds or state funds we applied to) to cover $1425.00 and $200.00. I just got word today that they APPROVED it. Apparently it is a fund for parents who aren't low income but have a lot of medical expenses out of pocket. I AM THRILLED. If I can get the insurance to cover the second band (still in processing) I will only have to pay $100.00 out of pocket. WHOO HOO. Once I get the details on this fund I will post more info. You might want to contact your local agencies such as Infants and Toddlers or Early Intervention and ask about these funds. Guest guest
Candy: Wow, what terrific news about getting the band covered! I'm sure there are many many parents in our group whose ears just perked up reading about that program. As soon as you get info., be sure to pass it along. I hope they help you out with the 2nd band as well. You'll be happy you decided to get a 2nd band. will probably get more good results with a new fresh band . Keep us updated. Guest guest
Candy - You were just full of good news. I'm glad that you have come to a decision about the second band - that's great. The best news is that you will be able to get the band almost completely paid for one way or another. That's great!! Sounds like you have a very conscientious Physical Therapist. I'm very, very happy for you and your family. Yippee!! Thanks for sharing the good news. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Actually the fund I applied to would only cover a future band so the funds are for the second band. I applied to another fund and got $200.00 toward the first band, which makes our out of pocket on the first $1,525.00. Hey, every little bit helps.
