Guest guest
Dear Forum, The demand for mandatory testing of male and female before marriage is raised many times. I believe that the rational before that must be to empower woman and to further check the spread of virus among the women. But, I think the objective of restricting the spread of virus among woman would be difficult to achieve as the certificates stating that the person is not positive and is free from virus could easily be made available. The possible solution may be to increase awareness among woman and encouraging both man and woman for voluntary testing and counseling. I feel that there is still gap between requirement and availability of the VCCTC. Accessibility of these VCCTCs are also a big problem. The people should be encouraged for voluntary testing and counseling and the development of social groups for facilitating the process and accessibility of VCCTCs could be a possible and feasible way of doing it. Let’s try to make woman empowered to take her own decision about her own life. Laws really can’t protect the rights. If laws can protect the rights there could not be any injustice in the world.
