Guest guest
, Don't feel bad- your here for a reason, and that is to help your child- so your a great mommy for being aware and attentive to getting action for your child (and you still have good time on your side)! My son was dx with tort at 2 months, and now at a little over 1 year old- we are "safe" to say resolved- although the tilt STILL comes and goes (this was about an 8-9 months process- but his was deemed severe and he had a lump). Keep in mind that tort is not an easy fix, it takes a lot of stretching and positioning- for months- and even through milestones that can regress some children back to that comfort zone. The tilt is the last thing to go. I will attach a link that will help you do the stretches at home (you will be the biggest pt for your child- one to two times per week will not cut it- the hard part lies with you as you will have more time to stretch and keep a watchful eye about positioning). You still have great time- I met someone at pt whose child was not dx with tort until 10mnths, and he did beautifully. I know when you see that tilt you think, nothing has been accomplished, but just remember that it is the last to go, and you still need to work on it. Please do check into the website www.torticolliskids.org and the support group torticolliskids@...- they were such a big help to me in tips, support, advice! Just as this board is proof positive that our children can be helped, the tort group will be as well when you see children's pics that are sooooo tilted and today they are straight as an arrow! I hope this link helps- please email me if you have any questions or comments/concerns you think I could possibly help you with!!
