Moving at 340 lbs is hardly an easy matter. > I hope you can find some exercises you feel comfortable doing. I wouldn't suggest any hard impact stuff as it is too hard on your joints. I still won't do any kind of hard impact stuff. Have you tried doing any of the WATP walking? It is pretty good. And the beauty of this program is you can pretty much cater it to the physcial shape you are in. If something is too hard for you you can skip it of do a lower intensity workout. You can just start with the simple steps of walking in place. You can do it indoors in any weather, Need no special equipment, nothing to buy. You don't even really need the video, just start walking in place like the gym teacher used to have us do in school in PE.Really any exercise that gets you up and moving more will help. The more you do the more you will be able to do next week and then even more the next week. After your weight comes down you will be able to add more movement and exercises as you go along. I know its not easy....Boy do I know its not easy. LOL But you can do it. Just start out with 5 minues a day if you need to and gradually build up your time as the weeks goes by. Guest guest
That's great - congrats and kudos to you! Yes, 5 minutes at a time still adds up to the 15-30-45 minutes.... who wishes there was water aerobics around here - do you do that at the "Y"?? Guest guest
You're most welcome , Thats what we are here for. You're right...that pretty well sums it up. Just do it....I wish it was as easy to do as to say. But really any exercise you can get will help. If you can get back to walking your dog, then that's great. If not, whatever you can do. 15 minutes may seem like a unbearable amount too when you start but whatever you can make yourself do...whether it's 15 minutes, 10 minutes or even 5 minutes starting out is great. You're gonna huff and puff and get out of breath but listen to your body. You need to challenge yourself but don't kill yourself in the process:) Listen to your body and just add time gradually. You'll see a big difference in your energy level and endurance in just a few short weeks. I try and get my mind off my exercise while doing it. The time will fly so much faster. Listen to your favorite music and tune everything else out. Or like you said, walk your dog and have fun with him. The time will fly by before you know it and it will make exercising so much more fun. > Hi and ... > > Thanks for your replies. I think it boils down to " just do it " as the > Nike commercial says.
