Guest guest
Hi Louis: How wonderful it is to read about the improvement in your son's depression. In our experience dealing with the depression has been much more challenging than dealing with the severe OCD. I hope you son has a long remission of his depression - my son's remission (partial) has been over 14 months now and holding. We do worry about what will happen when he comes completely off meds, but so far so good and next week he will be on only 10 mg Paxil. What things have you and your family done to take care of yourselves? I would appreciate any tips and suggestions from others with experience and suggestions. Take care, aloha Kathy >From: ocdnet@... Guest guest
Dear Kathy and other parents, I just found this list a few weeks ago. I, too, have struggled trying to find ways to take care of myself without the overwhelming guilt. One important thing I have done is to let others help me - from things as minor as giving the kids a ride, to running errands for me. I have stopped turning down invitations to grab a cup of coffee and just talk. Most importantly, I have begun to talk more about 's OCD and what is going on with her and with me. This has lifted so much pressure from me and has given others who care about her and me the change to be supportive. And it has helped me see as a whole person, who has charms, intelligence and talents, as well as OCD. Hope this helps! Gail GPesses@... P.S. Louis - is there a digest form available for this list yet? I like reading all the postings but my mailbox was overflowing while was I gone for three days. Guest guest
I think so too...........for those of us who are showing allergic reactions to this thing we seem to be up that "buggy "creek without a paddle. We have all done so very well. We are dealing with something that is abnormal and it effects every aspect of our lives......we have done very well. Rita Re: something new I am so sorry to hear about your yard experience rita.At least you have a protocol that is working against this 'thing' it is depressing but I feel that for some of us we are going to have to continually maintain our 'freedom' from this plaguez
