We found a local PCO who's willing to help us out with our mite

problem - at a cost, of course. He says his poison supplier

recommended " Onslaught. " It's labeled to kill mites. Anyone have

experience with this product?

No, but googling turns up these general information sites:

http://tinyurl.com/55s7ux

http://www.onslaughtinsecticide.com/

http://tinyurl.com/65gz7n

http://www.pestproducts.com/onslaught.htm

and the manufacturers sheet

Sounds very inexpensive as these things go, so the charge should be

for the labor. Sounds like a 3-4 week residual.

Hope these links help. Best wishes, Sue

Hi VB,

I have never had any experience with Onslaught, but maybe one of the

pesticides below has similar ingredients?

Our pest control co. used the following:

Demize CC <sp?> .03% Conc. 3oz.

Suspend SC .06% Conc. 1.5oz.

Precor IGR .0078% Conc. 1oz.

Kicker .023% Conc. 3oz.

per 1 gallon of water.

This was applied every 7 days.

This worked very well and got out numbers down to a manageable level,

until we could finally get rid of them.

Hope this helps!

Hi Trly. You'll be glad to hear we didn't hire the Orkin man! Using a

local guy instead, but unfortunately, he's not offering a guarantee.

So your guy had to spray every seven days? How many times did he have

to come back? Did he give you one price for the whole job or charge

for each visit?

Yes... I am so VERY happy that you are not employing the Orkin! I'm

sure that they are a great PCO... but not for people in our

situation.

Our PCO didn't offer a guarantee either. But I had faith in them!

Our PCO came every 7 days for a total of (I think) 5 consecutive

sprays and fogs. He now comes once a month for maintenance spraying

only around baseboards, door frames and the outside perimiter.

They charged us a little over $600.00 (I can't remember the exact

total)... which I felt was too cheap for the labor involved and the

chemicals used. Every time they came, they turned my house upside

down... literally. It was a job well done!

But again... bear in mind that these treatments DID NOT rid our home

of the mites. But IT DID bring the numbers down to where we only had

to deal with a few stragglers.

Good Luck VB!!! Keep us posted on how things go.
