Guest guest
Dollar Tree (Everything's a Dollar) has ziploc and slide type bags in larger sizes, and Dollar General has some too, but for a bit more money. Also got that tub of Sun Oxy clean. Got to search posts to see who it was who shared about it: Trly? and recipes. Also got my ESP kit in and am reading the directions. Also need to search and see what to use on my head, whether to leave it in (remember I have had head critters for years, still find nits no matter what I use or how much I fricking comb, cut hair to 1/4 " long and still had problems, plus feel them pop under the skin as someone (frito or???) described when I comb hard. Also, if using the ESP system, what do I put into my current shoes (can't afford to replace right now) to keep the mites down. I'd like to stop using my benzalchonium chloride mixture despite its relative weak formula, but that and the herbal insect repellent are the only thing that made wearing shoes at work bearable. That and wearing soaked and dried (in those chemicals) socks UNDER my pantyhose. (I know...whoda thunk that would help!) > > > > Thanks Trly. Guest guest
DE in my shoes has helped a lot. Before I put them on i put a hand full in and when I take them off I put another hand full in so there is always DE in them.I also put a bounce sheet in there as well when I am not wearing them. From: livingwithcritters <livingwithcritters@...>Subject: Re: Zip and Slide bags, ESP advice, socks UNDER pantyhosebird mites Date: Thursday, November 27, 2008, 9:21 PM Dollar Tree (Everything' s a Dollar) has ziploc and slide type bags in larger sizes, and Dollar General has some too, but for a bit more money. Guest guest
Yes, leave the esp in your hair 24/7.... I dont know what the specific instructions are for head lice, Trisha would tell you if you wrote to her... but how I used the products in my hair was just to wash it with the soap and let it sit for 5 minutes, rinse, then balm the skelp.....with short hair like yours, this should be really easy to do.... I hope the esp spells the end of your lice plague....you poor thing.... expect good things from the ESP, its a fantastic line.... z
Guest guest
Morning KJ, I can't remember if you said you called Trish or not. If you haven't, I probably would. She has some pretty good ideas to add to her products for a little more ummph, especially the serum. Thanks for the bag advice. I'm going to crawl into one for nine months. b > > Yes, leave the esp in your hair 24/7.... > I dont know what the specific instructions are for head lice, Trisha > would tell you if you wrote to her... but how I used the products in my > hair was just to wash it with the soap and let it sit for 5 minutes, > rinse, then balm the skelp.....with short hair like yours, this should > be really easy to do.... > > I hope the esp spells the end of your lice plague....you poor thing.... > expect good things from the ESP, its a fantastic line.... > z >
Guest guest
The lice treatment worked for me, kj. Instructions here: http://www.espbotanicals.com/main_line_new_hope.html Left it in for hours wrapped with saran, so the buggers would be trapped & the heat from my head helped. Vinegar will help you rinse it all out if you want to. Liked leaving the residue in my hair, almost a gel. Made it easy to comb through. Have asked Trisha for a hair gel & she tells me she's working on it. Best wishes, Sue Yes, leave the esp in your hair 24/7.... Guest guest
Hi, Sue, Did you lice comb at any point or were the chemicals enough? Thx, Sue, for your answer and for your prayers. Guest guest
Hey, KJ! Did a thorough combing after the balm wrap, but not having a real lice comb, used two combs I had on hand instead. The first is a metal toothed flea comb with 4 " of business tines & a long easy-grip rubber handle. Had it for years for cats & dogs & cleaning brushes & combing fur from vac attachments & even combing the fringe on oriental rugs. Took the odd tangles out with that section by section & then combed my hair straight back from the crown. Put all my shed hair on a paper towel in the deep powder room sink & trashed it in the toxic bin. Then went at it with a 6 " fine toothed wooden comb I've had forever. Started at the forehead & combed back to the ends at a 30 degree angle as the lice combing sites advise. Wiped any hair removed on another paper towel at the side of the basin weighted by the soap dispenser. Left the hot water on medium trickle & held the comb under it after each swipe. Worked around from the forehead to the ear on each side numerous times, till no sandy grains were visible on the wooden comb. Took maybe an hour or more. My hair is long & fine but thick. So I didn't do the lice combing of North-South & East-West. My wooden comb was curved to my scalp by the time I was done, and I was glad of the gentle action of the wood versus the metal tines. I tucked a folded length of paper towels into my shirt before I began to keep anything out as the barbers do. Soaked both combs afterwards in an OrangePlus hot water mix in a snap top plastic container. Cleaned the sink & faucets with the same & wiped the floor with paper towels wetted with the mix. All trashed in a plastic bag hanging on the doorknob & then tied closed & toxic trashed, same way I clean the bathrooms normally. Looped my hair with a clip & covered it with a Buzz Off insect repellant scarf knotted in the back. Couple times a day combed through with the wooden comb & hot water while the clip soaked & then put it up & under the kerchief again. At this point only comb it once a day. The residue of balm left even after shampooing with the ESP shampoo helped keep a layer of balm on scalp & hair. Anytime I felt a tingle, I'd quick comb the area with the wooden comb & put a dab of balm or serum on the spot. Never had a crawl or bite after the initial treatment, just the ocassional tingle, which I took to be a newly emerged bug from beneath the scalp. Haven't needed to do the full treatment but the one time & that was more than two months ago. Stopped wearing the kerchief a month ago but still tie it on when cleaning. Did have one nasty outbreak into the forehead scalpline. Just swiped it hard with the New Hope bar soap corner & left the gob of soap there till I shampooed a few days later. The sore was gone by then with no other attention. Before the balm treatment, the blacklight showed dots at the scalp on every hair. Since then, the blacklight reveals none. Once I got them out of my hair, had a clear shot to get them off my face & neck. The idea of keeping balm residue or serum continuously on scalp & hair till you're rid of them is a good one. Same as the New Hope layers on face & body. Cheering you on that this will be your ticket, too, KJ! Best wishes, your friend Sue Yes, leave the esp in your hair 24/7....
