Guest guest
All day I've been watching OJ plead for mercy saying how much his belongings meant to him and his children and that he just wanted to get them back. Me watching this after having thrown out tons of personal belongings already find this laughable. I just got done with another clean-out session. I now seriously have more cleaning supplies than personal belongings, excluding furniture and clothing. OJ, just let go of your stuff. Guest guest
I must ditto this as well in re to the cleaning supplies vs. personal belongings. It is sick when one heads straight toward the aisles for cleaning supplies in a grocery store vs. buying some decent food. I just finished another serious session of deep cleaning and seriously consider another move, my forth in a year, where is that steel chamber Myrtle mentioned, I want room service too , LOL. No, this place is not about an older building it just has not been cleaned in the hidden corners and on top of the doors I found out just now and it grossed me out, thick layer of gooey stuff and my pets nested right in there, man oh man, so far I have taken windows apart, refrigerators, the walls left streaks even when approached with a clean swifter not a good sign, now I am depressed because the walls look worse, only a major dousing or high velocity high heat steam cleaner could save this and some serious 'bombing'.... shiny floors will blind me to the hidden stuff, well eventually.... Since I have gotten down to just about one suitcase size belongings, I might as well narrow my future quarters to the utmost minimum so I can concentrate on 'them' and myself with more concerted efforts until this battle is over, oh then there is that brand new totally messed up car to deal with, no I want sleep in it, afraid of garage rats.. Stay strong my friend Kihun, we shall overcome and rebuild and recover soon. Guest guest
Thanks Marguerite. I feel like I'm friends w/ everyone here. I got so used to throwing stuff out that I no longer feel like I'm throwing money away. In the beginning I was always thinking, " man, I bet I could've sold that on ebay " or " I could've given that away to Salvation Army " . But now, to the dumpster they go. Actually, in this ironic way, there's a sense of freedom when throwing stuff away. I feel better b/c it makes cleaning that much easier with less stuff lying. I just threw out some blankets and a comforter today since I have not been using them (I sleep directly on an air matress and use a cheap Ikea throw). They were lying around in garbage bags on the floor but now that floor space is free. Vacuuming and spraying will be easier now. I thought about the cost to replace them but I thought about the future and it felt better to just dump them and buy new ones knowing that they would be clean and free rather than to try to salvage old, infested ones. This has definitely made me let go of stuff that I should've thrown out long ago to keep the clutter down in general, even if not going thru this. Now when I throw stuff out, I have more to look forward to. The day that I could buy a bed again. That I could sprawl out on my sofa again and watch a movie > > From: kihunonline <kihunonline@...> > Subject: OJ, let go of your stuff > bird mites > Date: Friday, December 5, 2008, 10:05 PM > > > > > > > All day I've been watching OJ plead for mercy saying how much his > belongings meant to him and his children and that he just wanted to > get them back. > > Me watching this after having thrown out tons of personal belongings > already find this laughable. Guest guest
Has anyone used a pressure washer, low pressure so we don't splash unwanted stuff on ourselves, with our desired ingredients in the mix? At a low enough pressure, you can clean crud off paint without removing the paint. Might save a lotta lotta effort and give us some good spraying range (and thus distance from the critters) as well. If we don't have one we can rent one. Also, Kihun, my husband and I were calculating last night...before we found this group, we spent easily $150K out of pocket on all the costs associated with the critters, and that counts things like replacement clothing, cleaning supplies and pesticides I would never otherwise have bought, a gazillion lotions and creams and oils and herbs and essential oils and antiparasitics and ... you know! Thank God for the group, because for the first time I think we may actually beat this thing.
