Guest guest
I think I got these straight: From Trish (http://www.espbotanicals.com/main_line_new_hope.html): * Apply SHAMPOO. Let sit for 5 min, rinse. * Apply BALM liberally to scalp and hair. Wrap in towel for 2 hrs. * Rinse * Repeat SHAMPOO 5 min, rinse * Comb out nits If you don't have the shampoo: Option 1 (Sue: " Trisha is working on a hair gel for us) * Wrap hair in plastic. * Leave soap in 4 hours * Rinse soap out, vinegar helps, and leave residue in (like a gel) * Lice comb Option 2 (Z: " Expect good from ESP, a fantastic line " ) * Apply soap, let sit 5 min, rinse * Apply balm * Leave the ESP in your hair 24/7.... * At some point, lice comb. Balm-Only Recipe (Bobby) * Apply ESP balm (thick coat) * Leave in hair for 24 hours, rinse and lice comb, * Repeat for several days * Balm should be in hair 24/7 for that period Thanks, my friends, katiejill
Guest guest
KJ, sorry I didn't make myself clear on this! I followed Trisha's treatment just as she outlines on her site & you've included below. The only thing I substituted was saran wrap for the towel wrap (wasn't using any towels at that point) & I left the balm in much longer than 2 hours - maybe 8 or even more. So my variation on Trisha's directions would modify the Balm step: * Apply BALM liberally to scalp and hair. Wrap in saran for 8 hours. As a substitute for Trisha's instructions: * Apply BALM liberally to scalp and hair. Wrap in towel for 2 hrs. The saran wrap is how I've always deep-conditioned my hair, usually with coconut oil or mayonnaise. Does seem to help the substance penetrate more deeply & isn't as messy as a towel would be. And I'm - literally - a hothead. My scalp runs warmer than my face as a rule. Probably why the mites liked it so much, along with all that hair to play in. The balm was hard to get out of my long fine but thick hair completely with the ESP shampoo. That could've been due to the saran & additional hours. Talking with Trisha about it at a later date, she said to use vinegar as a rinse if I wanted to get more of the balm residue out of my hair. Which is how we got on the subject of a leave- in hair gel. I've never washed my hair with the New Hope soap. Only used that as a blob of leave-on when an outbreak went from my forehead an inch into my hairline. Seem to remember others besides Frito saying they use the soap as shampoo, though. Go for it, KJ!
