Guest guest
Eileen, Well, I will say that you are doing the right thing by leaving the band off. We have actually discussed dry skin on a number of occassions so I would suggest going back through our archives and searching with the words " dry skin " or " ezcema " and see what you can find. We did not have that problem, but I do remember a large number of people suggesting the cortisone so that must be a fairly effective and common form of treatment. Hope the dry skin heals quickly and let us know how the adjustment goes on Friday. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Eileen: We also got some dry skin with our DOC band. I hope that Max's skin will adjust without too much more trouble. It is tough to have to take the band off after just a few days on!! Please do not use any other products without first getting the OK from CT. They should know if the product will be ok, and if they are unsure, ask that they contact Cranial Technologies to clarify. Hope his head heals soon!! Guest guest
Eileen, My 4-year-old daughter has eczema (on her arms and legs, not her head since she is not banded) and we regularly battle the outbreaks. What works for her is to not use any antibacterial bathing products (seem to be too strong and dry her skin out), occasionally give her oatmeal baths (using Aveeno Bath treatments which contain oatmeal), and use Aveeno anti-itch concentrated lotion on the spots. We also have a cortisone prescription but use it only rarely. The only problem with the Aveeno lotion is that it says on the bottle to consult a physician if using on a child younger than 2. It really works wonders for my daughter, though. Hope this helps a little! (and )
