Guest guest
Holly, Are you still going to dust with it after reading that? I think the DE I put down and vacuumed mostly up is still irratating my lungs. bob > > > > >> > > > > > >> > Joe, I along with my husband have been fighting this for > > over > > > 2 > > > > >> years and the best thing we have found to use in the > > environment > > > > > and > > > > >> on the skin is something called Roach Prufe. Guest guest
I found a link specific to Roach Prufe, regarding toxicity: http://www.pesticideinfo.org/Detail_Product.jsp?REG_NR=00960800002 & DIST_NR=00960\ 8 Here are some other links about boric acid toxicity: http://www.peopleforcleanbeds.org/boric_acid_history.htm http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002485.htm http://devinefarm.net/rp/rpboric.htm I have not used boric acid for the mites because it is poisonous, and I didn't want to poison my cats or myself. I have used it in the past when I had a cockroach infestation, and it worked great, but I only put it behind my kitchen sink, between the sink cabinet and the wall. I did not put it anyplace where it could be stepped in, inhaled, or ingested, because it is poisonous. If you don't have pets or children, maybe it's okay to use it if you're careful. I wouldn't put it on my skin on a regular basis because you will absorb it into your body. It sounds like you can poison yourself without having obvious symptoms. Please be careful using boric acid. I don't want to hear about anyone getting kidney damage, or worse. myrtle > > > > > > > > The things died in the skin I think. Guest guest
Just an FYI, I asked Trish from ESP Botanicals if boric acid is safe to use. Here is her reply. Dear Bob, Boron can be dangerous, but 20 mule team borax in the box, when used, is much safer than straight Boron. I won't bore-on LOL with the Chemistry Breakdown, but the old 20 mule team borax is very safe and all carpets should be steam cleaned with the stuff but mixed with water and other things. Borax was used for centuaries before we used all these damn pesticides and clothes cleaners made with petroleum distillates and made from chemicals. Straight boron should never be applied to skin, 1/2 cup of 20 Mule team borax in a bath is fine, but never straight Boron. Boron should never be applied directly to the skin or used as a powder it is dangerous and should never be ingested....period. This you may share with the Group. > > > > > >> > > > > > > >> > Joe, I along with my husband have been fighting this > for > > > over > > > > 2 > > > > > >> years and the best thing we have found to use in the > > > environment > > > > > > and > > > > > >> on the skin is something called Roach Prufe.
