Since not only my basement but my entire house is full of this, on the 3rd day I noticed a very clean, fresh smell in the house. I have read that boric acid kills some types of bacteria, it is an antiseptic, anti - bacterial and is used to stop ear infections. I even read that they make 600mg suppositories of boric acid to be used by women for vaginal yeast infections. My goodness, why didn't I know about this amazing stuff before now????
