Guest guest
I meant to post this awhile ago. Here are a couple of layman's explanations of the acid mantle of the skin: http://www.smartskincare.com/skinbiology/sebum.html http://www.celibre.com/sksacid.aspx The reason why I only clean my skin once a day is to try to allow the skin to produce and maintain the acid mantle, a protective barrier. This is also the reason why I haven't done things like use dish detergent to wash my skin, or bleach. Detergents will strip the oil from the skin, making it weaker and more vulnerable to outside forces. Also, I have had considerably better results with acidic baths (cider vinegar, lime juice), than alkaline baths (epsom salts, baking soda). myrtle
