I can totally relate to the "getting the monkey off your back" comment! It was such a relief for me to just finally make the darn decision after a couple of weeks of playing what ifs! It will be smooth sailing for you (aside from the casting experience- not horrible, but not fun either- over in 10 minutes tops!). I would suggest bringing someone to help distract or act like a clown, whatever works! Good luck on your DOC journey and please keep us posted on your progress! Can't wait to hear about graduation day- it will be here before you know it- trust me!

We set up an appointment to get Dane casted for a DOC Band on 2/9.

Now that the ball is in motion, I am finally relaxed and anxious to

get his head straightened out. It was the first time in a long time

that I slept through the night without getting up and thinking about

this. Dane must have sensed our relief, because he didn't get up at

all and he is teething.

I wasn't going to bother with fighting with the insurance company,

but my doctor said she just got them to pay for one with only

writing the initial letter. If that's the case, it will only end up

costing us between $100 - $200 because we shelled out a bit for

copayment on his apnea monitor.

Boy this whole decision has taken the monkey off my back. I just

wished I had listened to my instinct 2 months ago.

So good to hear that you have gotten the ball rolling. It sounds like you are

very relieved and happy with your decision. That's great! It will make the

whole process so much easier.

Good luck with the casting - you guys will do great! Let us know how it goes.
