Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. We had a nasty ice storm here in KC and I lost power for 5 days. I was about to go crazy, lacking basic things like heat and water (the water pump is electric). And not having television or the internet was about to send me over the edge. :-) We're home now and recovering... <sigh> I talked to the insurance company again, ready for a fight and all, but they said it was another " mistake " and that it was already " batched out " and ready for payment. So I guess it will get paid for and I was worrying for nothing. Thanks to this group for keeping me sane in the meantime. is doing fine in his STARBand. He hasn't grown much since he got the band, maybe a half a centimeter here and there. Is this normal? We've seen some improvement, but I am concerned that if he's not growing, his head isn't changing shape well enough to justify the band. Welcome to the new people and I thank everyone again for the encouragement. Debi and (STARBand 11/29/01)

And he's in a size 3 diaper now, up from a 2. So I think he is growing. He's 10.5 months old now. At last check he was 19 lbs and 27 inches. I know he's growing, but I think his head is filling in rather than getting bigger... Debi

Guest guest
well,,after playing phone tag all day with the lawyer..we haven't touched base!! the reason we say it should be covered is because in our benefits book it says that it covers orthotic devices to correct a problem from birth or a functional impairment...so..we say it should be..since doc stands for dynamic orthotic device! and this is a condition from birth...first they said no it was experimental...then we appealed w/o a lawyer..then they said no it was not a functional impairment..then we appealed w/ the lawyer and now they say no.. soooo maybe we will have a happy xmas...certainly not a happy thanksgiving in the docband way!! brenda brenda -- Re: insurance update Well that certainly sucks. Are they saying you don't have coverage for orthotics or for DME? Did you think you had coverage for either of those?Let us know what the lawyer says.Marci> hi all..well we got our insurance reply from our demand letter...its not> looking good..now they say that after further review it is not a covered> benefit and that in our benefits package we are restricted from suing them.> we can only go to arbitration...they also say they will not accept any more> appeals..so..i have to get ahold of our lawyer and see what we are to do..> so ..2 appeals down...and don't know what to do now!> > brenda> mom of tuckerFor more plagio info
