Guest guest
Karyn: I agree with Marci, 's plagio is, in my opinion, very mild. I would have honestly never noticed any flatenning had you not told us. I would love for my Abby's head to look that good! Guest guest
Hi Karyn, I just checked out the pictures of in the Photos Section. I have to say that her head shape does looks to be mild to me and I think the repositioning has worked great for you thus far. But I also have to say that her head shape reminds me a lot of my daughter's head after we repositioned. We had repositioned her for quite some time, both before and after seeing the specialist. Our specialist felt that after another month of repositioning that we would be satisfied with her head shape and we would opt not to band. I, personally, was not too thrilled with her head shape and I felt that there was room for more improvement. Plus, I was getting her twin brother banded and I didn't want to say to her 15 years down the road that we tried everything we could for Danny's head, but we decided to wait and see if her's would round out. And now I couldn't be more thrilled with the results for both of them. Anyway, that's what worked best for us and what I felt comfortable with doing. Every situation is different for each family. Please don't think that I'm telling you to band, because I know its a very personal decision to make, one that only you know the right answer to. Oh man I'm rambling again, I have a bad habit of doing that! Ok, to get back to the real reason of the post, 's head looks mild to me! ;o) Niki Kaylie & Danny (STAR grads) Phila., PA > Thanks again to everyone for all the information. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have downloaded a couple of pictures of my little cutie for everyone to see. I don't have any pictures of his plagiocephaly scanned yet but I will try and get that done asap:) Debbie, 's torticollis is coming along nicely. He has full range of movement now and will even sleep now with his head turned to the left side. He still tends to favour the right side when he is sick or while in his car seat (go figure). Otherwise, the major issue now is the head shape. Both his Occupational Therapist and his Ped are discouraging me from getting the helmet. You know the drill, his hair will cover it up.... I have recently asked his ped for a referral to the local children's hospital for a further assessment. So we are playing the waiting game now. Dana, 's mom. Ont. Guest guest
Dana: He is adorable . Thanks for the cute pictures. That's terrific that his torticollis is doing so much better. Now on to the head shape. It sounds like you've gotten the run around with your pediatrician regarding the helmet too. You're doing the right thing requesting a specialist. I hope they can get you in soon! Keep us updated & continue with the repositioning. Good luck.
