Guest guest
Kelli: A huge congradulations to Emmers . I'm so happy to hear of your great results. Isn't it just such a proud mommy moment when they hand you that diploma? I'm sure I'm not the only mom in here who cried when you rec'd that! I know how aweful that exit casting is! Abby was also 15.5 mos old at the time, it was not fun at all! It broke my heart but they do recover pretty fast. Abby also never liked to sit still for her pictures they took there. She just hated that place all together I guess, hehe. Poor Jane earned every last dime she made during Abby's appointments. Hope 's teeth come in soon! Is she getting her molars? Abby didn't get hers til 15 mos or so either. NOt fun at all. I never did reply to all the cute pictures of Em you posted either, they were adorable (sorry didn't reply sooner). Such a tall girl. If anyone Didn't your doc tell you to stay on liquids for days or a week or something? To me, and to most, that doesn't include applesauce. Let things heal without messing with soft food, and certainly not solid food. ~A~P~> would like to chat I'm on messenger alot under auddie1133. Guest guest
A fill so early may not be wise at all. First fills can be safely given only at 6 weeks or more, and only if needed. This is not just a random guess, it is the result of the early studies that showed those who stressed the band with fills before 6 weeks of healing, had an increased chance of slips. I don't know of aNY experienced docs - Australian, MX, or european - that give fills sooner than 6 weeks. This is not a race to get fills - you shpuld get one only if needed, if you are having no trouble, and should always have the smallest fill possible to do well - never the largest you can try to get away with. Also, you cannot even tell if you need a fill until you have been back on solid foods for at least 2 weeks. The liquids and soft foods you're on now tell nothing about how tight the band is fitting - these will always go through the stoma quickly. It's also not a good idea to " stick to liquids " , if you're not having any trouble. Liquids do not make the band work at all. It works only with solid foods that go thru slowly. Liquids run right thrpugh, do not keep you full, and do not bump up your metabolism to burn more calories, as solids do. all these basic Band concepts are in the Inamed patient guide and other written patient instruction things your doc should be giving you.
