Guest guest
Hey AnnMarie! Thanks for the compliment on 's name. I like the name too! Everybody always has a friend named and everybody always likes Chris! hehe. You were close with the spelling of "Puget Sound." You can probably pronounce Puget right, though, which would put you one step ahead of a lot of out-of-towners. I heard a British person once ask where the "Puggit Sound" was, instead of Pwoo-jit. hehe. My husband is a K9 handler for Boeing, working with a dog that detects explosives. It is unfortunate, but the only reason my husband got the job there is because of the heightened security needs after 9/11. We are worried about his job security after the war is over, but who knows how long that will be. If you ever get a chance to get out here to Seattle, you have to go to the Pike Place Market. That is where they throw the fish. There are a lot of things to do in Seattle. As for Tacoma, it is kind of a joke to Seattle people because it tries to be the little Seattle, but fails miserably. There are a lot of pretty places in Tacoma, but if you've ever watched the show "Cops" in Tacoma, we are known as the meth capital of the world! It's nice to run into someone on here who kind of knows my area! Talk to you later. Kellie, mom of Tacoma, WA
Guest guest
Hi Kellie!!! It was you that I was talking about living in Tacoma!! Sorry !!!!!!!!!!! My husband is a Senior Software Analyst for a company called Kennametal, Inc. His company makes parts for Boeing airplanes. He was in Seattle, at the Boeing plant (there is also a Kennametal office there), not Tacoma, last year. He also went to Pugent's Sound (not sure if I spelled that right) and he said it was very nice. He was at a big pier in Seattle (I forget the name of it) and he bought some fresh halibut steaks and brought them home with him -- they were absolutely delicious!!! I thought his whole suitcase was going to smell like fish, esp. after the long flight back east, but it didn't (not even a tiny bit). I guess that is what you call FRESH fish!!!!!!! Goodluck to you and !! AnnMarie and (12 mos./ Born 01/25/01) STARbanded -- 08/22/01 PS -- I love the name !! It was my second choice after !!!!!!!!!! I am always so fascinated with those K9's! I watch K9-5 all the time on Animal Planet, a show about working dogs. They are sooo smart. I'm an animal lover - if you can't tell. My husband's name is also - I'm glad you spell it " right " like my husband hehe. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI

Does your husband use a Lab on his job? AnnMarie, Well, when my husband was in the Air Force, he had a Belgian Malinois, which is similar looking to a Shepard, but they don't have the hip dysplasia as commonly. They used them because they are used for attack and for detection work. They were used by the SPs (Security policemen), so they had to be trained on attack. Well, now, at Boeing, you would think that they wouldn't need an attack style dog and would get a lab just to detect odor. No, for some reason Boeing bought Belgians. But they aren't police dogs. Makes no sense to me. We don't have a lab at home; We have a Beagle. And along with labs, our dog is so kind and gentle with . He has never once shown any kind of aggression or jealousy towards him. When we brought home from the hospital, he was only curious, but never tried to bite. Just licked constantly! Well, now that is running around the house, loves Boots (we didn't name him! He was previously owned) and will go up to him and give him hugs and pull his tail and ears, and boots just sits there and looks at us like, "Can ya make the kid stop?" But he never growls. He will lick him to death and just laughs. I am very thankful. I was scared before was born about the cohabitation of them both. Boots was my baby before , now that has changed, but I still didn't ever want to get rid of him. Well, anyway, I've rambled on enough. : ) Kellie, mom of , helmeted 1/17/02, born 1/17/01 Tacoma, WA
Guest guest
Kellie, That is sooo cool that your husband is a K-9 handler!!! I've always thought that I would love to do that job. I am a huge animal lover, esp. dogs!!!!!! I was the kid who always brought all of the strays home! As Debbie also said in her post to you, I also watch K9-5. Animal Planet, one of my favortie stations -- loves to watch it too!!!!!!!! He squeals with delight whenever he sees a cat or dog (or any animal for that matter) on the TV. I have a black Labrador Retriever named Dino at home (we also have a cat named Willow). I am a big Lab fan (I've had 3 of them now), they are great with children!! learned how to pull himself up on Dino. I know that Labs are used quite frequently for sniffing out bombs, drugs, accelerants etc. Do you have a Lab? If you don't and would like to get a dog for -- the Lab is the dog to get!!! Does your husband use a Lab on his job? Have a great weekend!!!! AnnMarie Re: AnnMarie (non plagio) Hey AnnMarie! Thanks for the compliment on 's name. I like the name too! Guest guest
AnnMarie- How funny! That would be embarrassing to tell your husband about all these posts. I can just picture it: "Honey, I talked to a girl online who is from Tacoma where you were born!" hehe...and he was probably like, "Uh, that's cool, but I'm from SPOKANE!" Doh! Those Toyota Tacomas are really nice trucks, but I still wonder to this day why they call it the Tacoma. Have a good one! kellie
Guest guest
Kellie, I was telling my husband about our posts about the state of Washington (Tacoma, Seattle etc.). I was so embarrassed -- he was born in Spokane -- NOT Tacoma!! We have been married for almost 7 years now, and after he told me it was Spokane I said "I knew that"!!! I do not know why I was thinking Tacoma (maybe because he drives a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck -- Ha Ha Ha!!!!) Anyway, I just thought I would clarify that!!! Have a great day!!! AnnMarie AnnMarie (non plagio) Hi AnnMarie. I just read your post to , and you had asked her if she was from Tacoma, Washington. I'm just replying because, I don't know if she's from Tacoma, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I am from Tacoma, Washington, and frequently sign posts with that. Didn't know if you had gotten us confused, because I noticed she usually doesn't put her location when she signs. But yes, you should definitely come to Washington with your husband. Did you say your husband works for Boeing? My husband does too in Seattle. I would say that parts of Tacoma are pretty, but you have to find the right parts. There is a lot of industrial area here, but the water is pretty, and you should definitely visit Seattle. It doesn't rain as much as people think here! or at least I don't notice it?Kellie, mom of , helmeted 1/17/02, born 1/17/01Tacoma, Washington For more plagio info
