Good Specialist?

Does anyone know of a good specialist anywhere near South Dakota--

maybe in Minnesota or Colorado--who is knowledgeable RE

plagiocephaly? We had our 5 month old evaluated by a pediatric

neurosurgeon in Minneapolis, however, he also told us not to worry,

that his head would " round out on its own. " I am still concerned

however, as does have facial assymetry and a head tilt--and

this doctor did not seem too concerned. Maybe I should listen to the

doctor, butI am still worried that this won't correct by itself, and

that I am wasting time by not doing anything. I just don't know

where to go next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi & welcome to our group!

Not to sound like a copy cat - but I would like to second everything

Marci already posted to you!! If you are uneasy at all about your

son's head shape - then definitely seek a 2nd opinion. So many of us

in this group have gotten " the head will round on it's own " story

from our Drs..

You also mentioned a head tilt. That definitely sounds like

torticollis, which is a cause of plagio. Tort. is often resolved

through physical therapy with stretches. I am sure (our

torticollis guru!) will chime in with some good stretching links that

she has :).

I am sorry I don't have a list of any good specialists that you could

see. I hope someone near your area will see your post & offer advice.

Please keep us updated on your situation. Welcome again.

Debbie,

Your too funny! I think I failed her miserably, a lot of my "good" links seem to no longer have the same address :(
