Guest guest
, Great news!! Good luck at your appt. When I saw the neuro, I already knew my son had tort- just didn't expect him to say my son was the worst case he'd seen (for tort)- then left me with my mouth open and told me to find a pt on my own (that was it, didn't care to see him for 6 months!). Since your child also favors one side, please ask the neuro for an MRI to get a dx of torticollis, or to rule it out. Also, ask about helmet therapy and the process. It sounds a lot like tort, so you should ask for a referral for a physical therapist in pediatrics/infants. Check into the torticolliskids for a better understanding of tort and its symptoms. Please feel free to email if I can help you on this topic. Whatever the neuro tells you, just know that you are getting so much education about this, and so much support here online, that you have the direction and the drive (obviously, your here!) to do what it takes to get resolve. I'm happy to say my son is doing just fine, resolved from tort after agressive pt and DOC band worked wonders. My neuro did not know about DOC bands, so I went that route alone- even my ped advised against it. Only you as Mommy and Daddy can determine what needs to happen when all is said and done in my opinion (after your fully informed). Ask the nuero all the questions that pop into your mind- there are no stupid questions! Make him/her work for that money!! Good luck to you at your appt. and please keep us all posted! Guest guest
- Hooray! Sounds like you have really got the ball rolling! Good for you. I cannot believe how quickly everyone is moving on this - you are very, very fortunate. Please let us know how the appointment goes and I will be praying for you. (I believe in the power of prayer also - I'm convinced that is why my baby is here today!!) Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma

Guest guest
Hi, and thanks to everyone who responded to New and Anxious. God has been answering my prayers quickly(don't know if you believe in the power of prayer, but I know it's there!) After I read the article in the baby mag., got onto the website, joined this group, and read a couple responses, I emailed a nurse of a ped. neurosurgeion who's address I found on a link to the Univ of MO.on the plagio website. I actually live in Columbia MO, where the Univ. is and she emailed me right back with a suggestion to have my son seen in their clinic and said she could squeeze him in next week if I could get a referral from my Dr. I was a little nervous about that, because I was afraid since my Dr. said not to worry about it , she might be a little irritated that I was suggesting this, but she was very cool. So, we have an appt. with Dr. Jiminez at the Univ. next Wed. Thank you all so much for your emails, and if you have specific sugg. of what to ask or experiences with your first visit, let me know!
