Guest guest
Yes the sad part is that he works at a childrens hospital here and said he has seen many many cases of this! I feel sorry for those people he probably sends them all home and tells them that they will be fine as time goes on! He was just a jerky guy for sure. Lucky that we don't have to really see him except for in 2 months he wants to check on her. I just hope we can get that tilt moving and then the 2 month timeframe to cut time down would be right on track! Guest guest
Okay can I first say that everything everybody said about the neurosurgeons not being too helpful was sooooo true! I knew more then he did (or at least as much ha ha) I am just thankful that we didn't go to see him first and that we went backwards and got the helmet first because I think if we would have gone to see him first he would have screwed everything up. He reminded me of the people here who have said that their ped/neuros said " oh it will round out. " And his exact quote was " eventually everybodys head rounds out and is perfect so that should really not be a concern. " Maybe he should talk to some people on this site! He said that Graces plagio was very mild (she has been in the helmet for a month with correction which I am not sure he took into consideration) and he said if it weren't for the tort he would have never put her in a helmet (because of that whole everybodys head rounds out perfect eventually thereoy I am sure!) But due to the tort he was ok with it (too late buddy she is already wearing it so we really don't need your ok!) Then he measured her head and said that we just need to get her tort worked out (no duh!) and it will be fine. He also recommened taking pictures (no duh again like we haven't been doing that!) I am sure he made a nice $200-$300 dollars from that 10 minutes of brillance!! Thank goodness for her orthotist who is tracking her and said today that her progress is coming along so well that at 2 months in the helmet we might be able to start decreasing the time in the helmet. The PT still is working on her tilt. ROM is great and she can be taken through all of the stretches it is pretty much up to her now to use it and tilt it so we continue to work hard on her! Ok just had to vent sorry this is so long but I found it quite funny and very predictable from what everyone here said it would be!!! and Grace
