Guest guest
Hello my fellow plagio parents, Plagio is everywhere, I'm telling ya! The word is getting out (atleast a little bit). I am the mother of a 10 month old who is about to start his second DOCband. (He was " severe " ). Our insurance company denied his 2nd helmet and I am fighting. Anyways! I was at a local mall near my home with my son, when another mother with a baby came running up to me and said " WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HELMET? HOW DID YOU GET THAT HELMET? " She went on to tell me how her son's head was flat too and that her ped told her it would round out on its own. I have a girlfriend who is a nurse in Wisconsin...she is the one who alerted me to plagio in the first place AND NOW her daughter's head is flat as well....from the Back to Sleep Campaign. Her ped ALSO tells her that it will round out on its own. WHERE in the WORLD do peds get this hairbrained idea? I was at the grocery store a few days ago with my son, the lady ahead of me at the check out turns around and says to me " is it working? " I was shocked that she knew what the helmet was for. She went on to tell me that her son wears the STARband and how he's going to be on their website. AND last of all, I was at another mall, this time without my son, when I ran into the sister of a girl that I graduated high school with. I asked how she was doing and we got to talking about kids...go figure. I tell her that my little boy has to wear a helmet and she tells me " SO DID MY SISTER'S YOUNGEST BOY " . Can you believe it? All these things occured within one week of each other. Just thought I'd share. Good luck to all plagio parents and kids out there, we are doing the right thing....THIS IS PROOF that Plagio is an epidemic (atleast I think so). I DO NOT live in THAT large of a city really. Guest guest
Hi : Wow, you've had numerous run ins lately! It's nice to know we're not alone, but yet it's sad this is happening to so many infants. I posted in here last week how I ran into a STARbanded baby at Family Fare in Byron Center last Thursday! From our same hospital of course (hey, have you gotten any more bills from them speaking of? I hope not!) I hope Will's doing well & not trashing your entire home now that he's crawling. Abby's been sick but is slooowwwwlyyy getting better. Keep in touch, good luck with insurance.
