Guest guest
This is something I posted on the cranio group, and thougt some plagio moms might be interested in it. We're always looking for ways to raise awareness for cranio (and plagio). If the family of a newly disagnosed child would contact The Learning Channel, they could possibly have a huge part in raising awareness. I know lots of people who watch TLC all day. Just think of the moms who might see this program and say " Hmmmm, maybe that's what wrong with my babies head! " Then, at least they'd have a name of the condition. That would provide them a starting place at least. So, any takers????? I realize it might take months to acutally get onto the show, but some babies are diagnosed very early and then have to wait months for the surgery date to arrive. Same deal with plagio.... in some cases the child may be diagnosed, but due to insurance battles etc, it takes a while to actually get the band/helmet. I think this is a doable thing.... What do yall think? This is what TLC says about the show, A Personal Story - The newest addition to TLC's daytime block, A Personal Story, tells the stories of people who are undergoing corrective and reconstructive surgery. While these procedures don't save lives, they often change them dramatically. Patients and their loved ones explain the reasons they've decided to go through with corrective surgery, and how they hope it will improve their well-being, health, and at the same time, their self-image. If you're interested, go to the TLC webiste and check out the application process. There a a jillion release forms to be signed and it looks like a tedious process, but it might be worth it. I think I would have tried this, had I known about it when Millie had surgery. That's it from me! mom to Millie (sagitta cvr 10/00, DOC Ban
