Guest guest
Hi - Glad to hear that the casting is done. It's great that a less messy procedure seems to be in place at you orthos office. It is not uncommon to remove the helmet more often at first as you baby adjusts to it and so that you can check for red marks and make sure it doesn't need adjustments. After the first couple of weeks you should be able to go to 23 hours a day. Double check with your ortho to see if he meant to take it off every 4 hours the whole time or just at the beginning. I was finished breastfeeding by the time got her helmet so I can't help you with that one. I do know that there are moms in this group that are breatsfeeding and they did it with the helmet on. Is Kai's head flat on the side or in the back? Flat on the back is usually brachy. Flat on the side is usually called plagio. Both are actually forms of plagio. I guess you will be in the band soon enough now. You will be amazed at how fast your little one adjusts. As far as the length of time - it varies from baby to baby. started somewhat late and wore her helmet for about 6 months. Good luck and let us know when you go in for the fitting.
