Guest guest
Hi Darcy and welcome to the group! We recently just had a member here asking about doctors at Toronto Sick Kids. (I'm not from Canada, but I'm pretty sure this is the only place in Toronto that provides bands, I could be wrong though) Anyway, our wonderful group owner did a search in the archives and came up with the name of two doctors at Toronto that one of our members used. Here is the link to that post: Plagiocephaly/message/16817 My son Danny also had the brachy head shape and I'm trying to remember if he had any bumps like the ones you are describing. I think he might have had bumps right above each ear, but it was nothing that I or any of my doctors, including the neurosurgeon were concerned about. To keep Madeleine off the back of her head, while she is sleeping put a rolled towel behind her so that she stays on her side. Also, try putting something interesting off to the side so that she turns her head. And of course, try to give her plenty of tummy time! Good luck Darcy, I hope you are able to get the help you are looking for. And again, welcome to the group! Guest guest
Hi Darcy: Welcome to our group! I see you've already gotten 2 great response for repositioning as well as help finding a Dr in your area. I hope those are of help to you. My daughter had plagio. and I never noticed any small bumps anywhere on her head like you are describing. I really wish I could be of more help to you . Check out the link Niki gave yuo as well as the www.plagiocephaly.org website for good repositioing tips. You could also check out our " bookmark " section in the group for other information that might help you. Too bad they couldn't get the xrays done, gee imagine a 10 mo old squirming too much!!! Shocking!! Did you reschedule them? Please let us know of anything you find out with the information given to you - good luck! Guest guest
Hi Darcy, I live in Burlington and am currently waiting for an appt. with Sick Kids to discuss my son's plagio. I can't recommend anyone yet, but I'll let you know how my appt. goes when (if ever) they call me. lol. I spoke to a receptionist at the crainal facial dept. (I think that's what they were called) and she told me that they currently have 40-50 children on the wait list. She was hoping to get us in by March where my son is now 6 1/2 months old. I would push for your ped. to make the referral now if you want a further assessment completed regarding his head shape. Good luck and keep us posted.
