Guest guest
, Glad to hear that the appointment went well - that's great! It sure means a lot to have a knowledgeable specialist to work with! It is my understanding that they can and will cast for the DOCband without the 3D CT results. You're doing the right thing by calling and checking for cancellations. You surely don't want to get held up because you're waiting for the CT scan! Let us know how the appointment goes on Saturday (BTW I think it's awesome that you can get in on Saturday - that is very customer friendly!!!!!). Guest guest
Hi all, I've been pretty quiet lately, just reading all the posts and learning tons. But, I wanted to share though how good our visit with the specialist went. (His name is Dr. Zakari at the Toledo Clinic. We got him off of the prefered providers list on the plagio site) He was very down to earth, and great with . He was well informed about plagio and Doc Bands. He encouraged us to go ahead and meet with the Doc Band people in Mayfield for an initial consultation and to get measurments done. Our appt. is Sat. In the mean time he oredered a 3-D CT scan and some x-rays for . The only bad thing is that we couldn't get an appt. for the CT scan until March 5th. (I'm going to keep calling to see if there are any cancellations though) We could have our band 3 weeks from today if we weren't held up with the CT scan. I'm thinking that they will not cast for the Doc Band until after the neurosurgeon reads the CT scan. ( so that craniosynotosis can be ruled out) Does anyone know if that is the case? will be 7 months next week so I'm anxious to get going. I was also hoping to get through most of his time in the band before the hot summer months. ps Congratulations Kendra!
Guest guest
: I'm happy to hear your appt went so well. It's nice to get a down to earth Dr. - I can always tell in the 1st min. whether or not I like a Dr. - not fair, but first impressions of drs are very important! I am pretty sure CT will go ahead & cast before you get a CTscan or xrays done. Not all plagio babies who get a band or helmet have even been xrayed or CT scanned to rule cranio out. It is good to have the tests done though to be on the safe side. That is terrific CT will see you on a Saturday! Let us know how your appt goes Sat. - best of luck Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI
