Dana:

Hanna is sleeping now, but when she gets up, I'll try to do pix of her head all around. Her remaining flatness will probably not be all that apparent to you all, but to me it is still very much there. Come to think of it, she had some pretty wild hair before her nap, so I'll see if she'll let me wet it down a little a) to get better pix, and B) to work out the cowlicks!! ;o)

She's a year and 6 months past her graduation now, and she's 28 months old, so I don't think we'll see much more natural correction, although I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Anyway, post to ya later!

Head Shape after banding

Hi everyone,I notice that alot of the group members have children who have already graduated from their helmets/bands. I have looked at some after pics on the photo section but they are usually from above or facing front. I'm curious to know how much correction people have recieved and what does the head look like from the sides? Some say that they have not recieved full correction and I am kind of curious to know what that looks like.I guess I just want to know how high to set my expectations. It's hard for me to imagine what my son will look like with a round head. It has been flat since he was 2 mo.Thanks.Dana (mommy to )Ont. For more plagio info

Dana:

My son wore the DOC band for 4 months (started at age 7 1/2 months)

and we saw about 95% correction. I really think it is that close because he

has an identical twin brother with a beautiful round head to compare to (and

they had just a little bit of blond hair for such a long time!)

had classic plagio (the parallogram shape with misaligned ears)and if you

look closely when his hair is wet, you can still see a small area just

between his ear and the back center of his head that could be just a bit

more rounded out (the area on the back of the scull right behind the

eyeball - does that make sense??). It is so very slight, but with his

brother to compare to, we really can see it.

On the other hand, we just had the boys' hair cut last week and the stylist

commented what beautiful, round heads the boys had, especially !!!

I was so happy!!! I told her how much that meant to hear, and what we went

through to help . She could not see any problem.

I think most people won't see the slight imperfections we parents still see.

Heck, my ped didn't see a problem when 's head looked like a

smushed box!!

Here's hoping for more rounding!!!

Dana,

graduated at 15 1/2 months and she is 26 months now. I will try to post

a current picture of her. The only way you can notice that she still has

issues is when you look at her from the top while standing above her.
