sooo annoyed!!

Well I just got a call from Senator Helms office this morning.

My husband and I had contacted there office hoping they could help us

with the whole Tricare DOC band issue. Well we faxed them all kinds

of paperwork and they said theyd get back to us. Well they got back

to us today and basically told us there is nothing they can do cause

Tricare faxed them over part of the benefit books which says that

orthotic cranial molding helmets are excluded from the benefits. A

book which I do not even have nor have I ever seen. I told her this

and she said she would get them to send me a benefits book. Tricare

doesnt seem to know what Im talking about when Ive tried to request

one. Anyway so I am just soo extremely annoyed. I was so hoping by

some miracle they could take care of this. Still waiting on my

denial letter to come in the mail and Im still working on the whole

appeal thing. Meanwhile my pastor called me tuesday and asked if I

minded if he contacted a congressman that he knows. Of course I dont

mind. So we'll see what this turns up. Still hoping for a miracle.

Our insurance company denied us also because orthotics aren't

covered under our specific policy. I called several times and was

told it was by the " Customer Service " Reps (ironic name). The

denial letter scolded me and said I should always contact C/S first

to see if something like this is covered. Anyhow, I called our

insurance agent who sold my husband's company the policy. She said

to appeal it on the grounds that I was misled and told to jump

through hoops for no reason. We should hear about the appeal this

week.

You might want to trying contacting the agent for your specific

policy to see if he/she can help you appeal on the same basis. Our

agent said people get approved about 1/2 the time under these

circumstances. I would think you have a case since you have asked

for the book previously..

Dear Christi, I am sorry that you and Mya are going through this. What the

heck is the big deal with these insurance companies? Why won't they pay? It

is not fair! I am praying that you are able to get help from someone. HUGS,

Thanks for your prayers. Definetly need some more prayers. I dont

understand it myself. If it is a medical necessity it should be

covered and that should be the end of it. SOOO stupid.
